The spark for this groundbreaking startup ignited with invaluable guidance from Dr. Kularathna Rathnayake, an esteemed Sri Lankan scientist renowned among Australian button mushroom growers.
Recognizing the untapped potential in Sri Lanka’s landscape, where wheat straw isn’t prevalent, the team embarked on two years of rigorous trials using paddy straw as an alternative. This dedication bore fruit when the very first white button mushroom was successfully cultivated, marking the inception of Nature Harvest Mushrooms.
